Sewing Machine Operator
Summary
CHEFtog, a manufacturer of culinary apparel for the food & beverage and hospitality industries, is currently seeking a part-time industrial sewing machine operator to work in our manufacturing facility in West Chicago, IL. Responsibilities
The sewing machine operator’s primary responsibilities include:
- Sewing a variety of garments to exact specifications of work order
- Cutting patterns and/or pieces as well as trim work
- Inspecting garments for correct stitching, uniformity and overall quality including measuring garments to verify conformance to standards using rulers and take measures
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years sewing experience using industrial machines
- Read/Write/Speak English proficiently
- Ability to stand, sit and/or walk around for up to 8 hours per day
- Strong attention to detail
- Must be mindful of safety requirements and comply with all safety policies and procedures
- Replace spools of thread & insert bobbins
- Must be able to draw threads through needles and adjust machine functions to meet requirements of the sewing project
- Ability to sew to exact specifications of work order
- Excellent time management and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new techniques as well as offer innovative ideas and opinions
- Push & pull up to 50 pounds
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
